offset issue

I draw a simple spline, with 4 dots
When I offset that spline, new one has almost 50 dots!
why?
can i control it?

That is a pretty stupid behavior.
I think it is just how it works now.
I will report this to Graphisoft.

Hi All,
Offset of spline works on the following way:
First the spline is transformed to a polyline, then the polyline will be offset, and transformed back to a spline.
That’s why it has more nodes after offset.

I see, so it is a feature not a bug.
I guess this has technological reasons for working this way.
