<T>I have a straight forward house modelled in a separate file and then saved as a Module file to bring into the main site model.

I have saved each floor separately because the main file has different storey heights for the proposed buildings and this house is existing and will stay un-touched so no need to change this once drawn up.

However when you use separate files for each floor, when you bring them in the solid element operations of the roof have been lost.

Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Because its a module it will not let me re apply the SEO!</T>

The operators have to be in the module or the relationship is lost. You should be able to reapply the operations between the placed modules. I think you have to enable ("unsuspend") groups in order to affect the modules.

Cheers Matthew,

I have tried this but you can select parts of the module file to use as the operator but you cannot use module parts as the target, it just pops up saying

<S></S>'One or more of the selected elements are not editable, therefore cannot be used as operators or targets'<E></E>

when you save out as a module file, you get options for the file such as break nested hotlinks & compress file, I never change these because I don't no what they do, could these help?

One way round i have found is to use trim to roof instead of SEO, this is fine for some things but for others wont work!

trim to roof is taken with the module file, so for now its sorted!

Yes. Trim to roof inserts the cutting planes directly into the target parts and so is retained even if the roofs are deleted.

I am wondering if the Home Story of the SEO operator and target are the same so they both get saved into the same Module. I figure since it is an associatie relationship they both must be present. But I can imagine that if the Home Story of both are not the same then one may get saved into a Module, the other may not. Then the SEO cannot be maintained when that Module is inserted since one of the participating geometries is missing.

Ah!. Nested hotlinks refers to other files linked into the file you are exporting from. They could be a problem though I'm not clear if you have them. I can't say for sure as I haven't time to test it, but if the parts you are trying to cut are part of a nested link that might prevent the operations. It's also been a long time since I used SEOs to cut elements of a module. It's possible that this has changed but that would seem a bit odd to me.
