Some ideas:

Convert the stairs to a morph and project that and dress it up a bit with 2D linework.

Have one layer for the 3D stairs, and one layer for a 2D linework/fill to represent the plan view. This is the method I use when stairmaker starts falling short of what I need and I end up modelling the stair in 3D and using 2D linework/fill to show the plan schematic.

Save the stair as an object and edit the 2D script to work for 3 stories (requires some knowledge of GDL).

<T>Hi to all,

Suppose I have floor height 24' between ground to First. then I have second floor of height 19'6"

I have created two more stories for Mazenine say mazenine 1 & mazenine 2 ( I need this separate) between Ground to First floor.

I created one staircase 1 of floor to floor height 24' and another stair 2 for First floor to Second floor.

Now I want to show staircase 1 on Ground, mazenine 1 & mazenine 2 only.
stair 2 to be shown on First and Second floor.

I am not able to show staircase 1 on all first three stories because in staircase dialog box - Floor plan and display - there is no custom option like Roof tool. if I select show on all stories then it is visible to all other stories also which I don't want.

I know there is one option that I have to create two separate layers for both stairs,

Is there any other way to solve this problem?

Thanks & Regards,

Does show on relevant stories work? If not, divide the 24 high stair into segments so each can show using the displays
1. stair from ground up to 1st mezzanine,

2. 1 mezzanine to 2 mezzanine,

3. and the third 2 mezzanine to first floor.

Hi Erika,

Yes , I have checked relevant story option , but it's not working.

I am not getting , how can I divide stories in segments?

Thanks & Regards,
Bumping this.

I have stairs going from floor 0 to 1, they are in the multi story hall, spanning from 0 to +2 floor. How can I do that I will see them also on the upper floors (in my case floor 2)?

Show on stories:
- home story only: obviously not useful
- home & story up: obviously not useful
- home & story down: obviously not useful
- home & story up and down: obviously not useful
- one story up: obviously not useful
- one story down: obviously not useful
- all stories: obviously not useful, I don't want to see them below 0 floor
- all relevant stories: does the same as home story only

Any solution? Beside non-solution, i.e. drawing them with lines?

*btw: while writing this text I found my English is not good enough to know when to use floor and when story Is it multi stories hall? Is it spanning trough stories or trough floors? Finally, is it story or storey

Can you re-link the home storey of the stair to your middle floor, and show one storey up and one storey down?

PS if you use either "floor" or "storey" most people will know what you're talking about. And I think Americans would spell it "story" while New Zealanders (using UK English) spell it "storey". Again, either one will get your message across.

It's a very multi-cultural place here at Archicad-Talk, and I'm astounded by how well non-english speakers communicate. I can order beer in four languages, but after that I'm stuck.

I was wondering if I missed something obvious in the settings
I know there are always "dirty" solutions with morphs and 2D but I am trying to avoid them.

Create Stair 1 on Ground floor with stair height of 24 Feet. Copy the stair, go to Mezzanine 1 and paste the stair. Change the 'height from story' to -8 Feet. Please note it is Minus 8 Feet (I am assuming the height of Mezzanine floor is 8 Feet (ie 24 / 3 = . Now go to the Mezzanine 2 and paste the stair. Change the 'height from story' to -16 (Please note it is Minus 16 Feet). Now you have 3 stairs, one with in other, all located on the Ground floor, but each one linked to Ground, Mezzanine 1 and Mezzanine 2. Hope this will solve your problem
