<T>Gday fellas.

I've just started using ArchiCAD 13 for a university assignment. I have a house, but need to create the site. the block measures 20m wide, 30m deep with a fall of 600mm from front to back.

At the moment my house sinks below the sloping ground level.

Could someone explain to me as simply as possible how to create contours in the block so i have a flat pad in the middle of the site for my house.

Cheers
Quinton</T>

If you already have your mesh, then all your have to do is draw your topo lines as polylines, select the mesh and select the create mesh button in your tool palette, magic wand(spacebar) your topo/polylines. Then select each contour and give it a z value. I think this is in the help manual with more detail. This works nicely, just a bit tedious.

I'd come across that before. I guess the issue I'm having is that I'm starting from scratch, creating my own contours lines, not using the trace/reference. i go to draw my line (poly) and then it disappears. i want it from boundary to boundary and all that ends up happening when i click on the edge to draw the contour is the whole mesh area moves.

I've just worked out this problem.

Now when i put in my heights, nothing changes. I have the slope and thats fine. just the contours within the block site I'm struggling with now

Your mesh should start out flat, not sloped. Maybe this is part of the problem.
Can you shot me a screen shot of what you are trying to do?
