<T>Hello:

How can i create a perpendicular wall to a diagonal ?.
I imagine it has something to do with snaps but i dont know how to use them in archicad.

Thanks!.</T>

The easiest way is with Guidelines. If you have guidelines turned on (button above the "G" in Guideline in image below, or from the View menu), start your new wall, put your cursor over the existing wall, click on the "blob" (orange circle that appears after a second) and this will create a guideline on the existing wall. Now you can move your cursor somewhere near perpendicular and a guideline will appear that is perpendicular to the existing wall. Your cursor will also change to a perpendicular symbol.

look for these little fellas in the control palette.

i have them on 'P' single-key shortcut, (might come that way out of the box), which scrolls between perpendicular and parallel snaps...

start your wall at the point on the diagonal you want, select the perpendicular snap command and click the element you want to snap perpendicular to, (your diagonal). the wall will then become constrained in that direction until you finish it off...

or...you could draw a wall from somewhere up to the edge of the diagonal wall, drag the end of it along that wall until you get a perpendicular symbol. Then move that perpendicular wall along the diagonal wall to wherever you need it. I find myself doing this as a quick way to get a perpendicular line quite often. There are many other ways to do it. I would be good to know how to do it several ways.
