I read a post that holding down the scroll wheel and dragging would do it, but that doesn't work with the scroll wheel on my ergonomic 5 button mouse.
To enable the pan function assign your scroll wheel to "Middle Click".

<T>Is there a way to assign Control-Click, Option-Click operation to functions? I used to be able to in 8.1, but after upgrading recently to 12, all seems gone. I really liked being able to Pan with the mouse.

I read a post that holding down the scroll wheel and dragging would do it, but that doesn't work with the scroll wheel on my ergonomic 5 button mouse.

All would work if I could assign mouse clicks to operations. Am I missing something, or is this a another case of newer isn't always better?</T>

Just tried it, and now clicking the scroll wheel launches OSX Dashboard. Must be an OSX default.

That was it. There is a Dashboard preference buried in the Expose System Preferences.

Pan using the scroll wheel works now. I am happy.
Thanks all.
