<T>Afternoon everyone.

Could somebody please advise me how I can add a window that has more than 4 sashes, 6 to be exact, but is still capable of making each sash openable if required?

As you can see from the attached screen grab, I currently have to use 2 separate windows with 3 sashes on each to achieve this, which is problematic when it comes to generating my window schedule.

Thanks in advance...

You can create custom windows using CadImage's window tool. I heard it's possible to create windows using ArchiCAD's library tool, but I'm not sure.

For now, if you just want a 3D or 2D view of it, you could just put a string of 1 panel single windows... unless you want it to show up in the schedule, then that will be a problem.

I am clearly not the first to identify this as a problem, as the above post was started in 2010! What I don't understand is why Graphisoft haven't sorted this issue out in the embedded library. Why is it still a separate add-on?
Modular Joinery Object is a special tool for making custom windows and doors. Maybe with some work you can make this do what you want. I've used it before but not with v15-16 so ymmv.

You can draw evers kind of window by using slabs in the groundfloor. Just be carefol by the dimensions of the slabs.

If You choose the slabs- you can convert them into a normal archicad-window. Read the ArchiCad-Dokumentation about this.

There are also some Youtube-tutorials about this topic available..

this one is in german but you will get the point. And there are some differences in the workflow in Archicad 15
This is just a GDL object, not an add-on. It was first developed for AC13, so there will still be a version that works on AC15. I'm not sure where you might look for a distributor of an old version though.

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for the input. If you or anyone out there knows of where I could find the object for AC15, I would be extremely grateful if you could let me know, as I can't find it anywhere.

Apologies for using the wrong terminology, but the point is that it should be built-in to ArchiCAD. You shouldn't have to download and install an additional object just to be able to add a window with more than four sashes. This should have been obvious to the developers from the very beginning. It goes without saying that some windows have more than four sashes.

Hopefully, they get this sorted for future versions.
