info box dissapearing

hi guys, this is something that has never happened to me before, so hope you can help.
when i select an item, such as wall, slab etc, the info box fails to show up 90% of the time, until i zoom in or out, it will then show up, but if i place the cursor over the item again it will dissapear, if i dont place it over the item then sometimes it will dissapear all by itself.

There was (is?) a bug where if you have a trace and reference view open then the info box info does not appear for your selected element.
Turn the trace & reference view off.
have you got the latest hotfix?
