1- Could the wall be a complex profiled wall? Maybe it doesn't have any vertical stretch lines defined in the complex profile?

2- Firstly check your storey settings - maybe the storey you are pasting into is incorrectly defined and the elements are being pasted at an unexpected level. Check if the height from the current storey is also correct in the walls settings. It should be fairly obvious if this figure is incorrect. It might be worth placing a temporary section though the walls and see if the missing walls appear.

Also check you don't have a '3d cutting plane' defined, and that you have all the storeys set to display in the 3d window in the 'filter elements in 3d' dialog.

Don't forget to add a signature that shows your ArchiCAD version and basic computer specs, as accurate answers will depend on this information!

walls - issues

<T>i hope that i can exaplin this enough for someone to help.

-i am working with walls that were drawn by someone else. i can not get them to change their height. i change the things that i know of in the setting but nothing. -i try to drag/scale the wall vertically in the 3d view and the points (back dot, ref points) move up but the wall stays put. -is something masked or locked or am i a goof?

-i also copied the walls from the 1st flr plan, went to 2nd flr plan and pasted them. i can see them in the floor plans, but they are not to be seen in the 3d view. i have also tried changing the height settings where i know of.

now, just to make sure i am not too far off base i started another file and drew basic walls myself, copied pasted 1st flr to the second flr, just like i did in the tuts. vertically scaled the walls and everything else.

-not sure whats up with the walls in this other file.

thanks alot in advance if you understand what i am talking about, and can help.</T>

The layer they are on may be locked, in which case unlock the layer via Document > Layers > Layer Settings.

Or the elements may be locked, in which case select the walls and go to Edit > Locking > Unlock.
