Placing objects!

Hello!

I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong or whatever it is.
But when I'm trying to place an object by using the X,Y coordinates, Archicad
assumes I want to start from the absolute point zero.
I want it to start from my cursor.
So I can place the cursor at the end of the wall, press X 3000, and then I know my window is 3meters from the end of that wall.
How do I do that?

Try X3000+ before ENTER. The plus/minus tells AC to use relative numbers. This is in the manual, so might be worth a look!

Thank you for your help, but I've allready tried that.
The technique works when I build slabs and walls, but not for example windows.

Your cursor needs to be at the place it is measuring from. If you want the window 2 meters from the corner, your cursor needs to be ON the corner when you type X2000+.

yes, thank you I know, It's working with slabs and windows as I said.
I think I've tried everything...

Are you using the "plus" sign on the numeric keypad (as you should), or are using the the one at the top of the alpha keypad?

Have you got Tracker turned on? It should be on.

I think this has to do with Absolute vs Relative input method.
It seems like Willefb wants to use relative but it always does it the absolute way.
In the Work Environment Dialog as well as the Tracker context menu on the Standard Toolbar it is possible to toggle between the two methods by using the "Relative Coordinates in Tracker" option. In our case it should be ON.

I didn't realy catch you where to make the option "Relative Coordinates in Tracker" ON ?
Can't find it in the Options>Work Enviroment>Tracker and Coordinate input...

On that page of the WE Dialog, there is the Show X-Y coordinates relative to User origin in Tracker checkbox. If it is not checked, absolute coordinates will be used.
But you know, now that I checked it, it seems inconsistent to me.
It seems like no matter what you set in the We Dialog, it takes into consideration only what you set in the context menu of the Tracker in the Standard Toolbar.
There you need to check the Relative Coordinates in Tracker option.
This is strange as I would think the two toggles should influence each other vice versa since they are affecting the same setting.
