For the problem you illustrate, I'd place empty window openings next to the windows in the main, thicker wall where the recessed quoin is to appear.

Then I'd fill the resulting gap with a complex profile wall showing the mortar joints.

<T>Hi!

I`m at very beginning of my AC experiences and I can`t figure out, how could I make such wall fragment as shown in attachment. I`ve tried quoin GDL object, but that doesn`t give me satisfing result.

Could anyone please give me some thoughts?

Thanks</T>

Also, ask your ArchiCAD reseller/distributor about the Modular Joinery object - it will enable this to be done as part of the window (see attached image). You should be able to get the object free of charge.

Can I ask why isn't the Modular Joinery Object a simple download or why isn't it not already included with Archicad? Why jump though hoops to get it? If it's freely available and the pirates already have all the other tools, why hide it? What's the point?

And if the answer is to give incentive to the subscription holders, I've been down that line of reasoning and that doesn't make much sense either. For the simple fact that I'm a subscription holder and I heard about this part as a matter of chance, never as a promotion or a perk of being a subscription member. It's got me thinking, "What else is there that's like this?" if it's true that this is a perk for subscription holders. And will also have the negative effect of making me think Graphisoft doesn't have it together when it comes to handling subscriptions.

I'm going to ask my reseller for this part. Maybe I'm missing something so obvious it's worth this kind of frustration.

Are you authorized to distribute this Dwight? I need everything on the up and up, even if it doesn't really matter one way or the other. Graphisoft intentionally holds this part back to be distributed as it's author, Mr. Wessel, has pointed out how to get.

I solved this problem like suggested above, but now my floor plan shows empty windows in these places. How can I make AC show complex profile walls on floor plans in these caps instead of empty windows?

am not having this problem.
Have you considered the appearance of the empty window symbol obscuring the walls?
Or the display order?
