Creating a splayed column

I can't believe I haven't done this before or can't figure out how but I want to create a splayed (double pitched) column. Please see the enclosed plan view. What is the easiest way to do this?

Initially I thought to use a roof and adjust all the edge cuts individually. No sure you could get exactly this.

But, if your up for creating an object, I think its the RULED form you are looking for. With the top and bottom the same "plan", should be pretty simple.

Also, I suppose you could try a simple COLUMN (tool, not an object) and use the Z rotation to get it leaning. You probably have to SEO the top and bottom if you want them level.

Or your could create a complex profile with the rotated section...

OK I still can't figure out how you made that complex profile. I can still only get rotation one way.

Imagine drawing a "diamond" as the complex profile. The rotation initially would be one way, but after you rotate the object around the z-axis, it will appear as a double rotation.

And it doesn't even need to be a complex profile. Just take a regular old column rotate it and then rotate and tilt..

That IS correct, but you can't compensate for lateral distortion caused by the tilt angle of the column using a square section.

Actually its not an issue...
I've just discovered that the rotation parameter in the Column Settings do the job perfectly...
So... No need to built complex profiles to achieve splayed columns...
