Problem with Special Snap Options

Hi,

I'm currently going through the Archicad Essentials ITG tutorials and am having a problem with the special snap functions.

When I try to select the Distance option from the drop down menu, it continually reverts back to the Half option. Is there something that I am doing wrong?
