Using the wall niche tool is good too if the opening doesn't have to go through the entire thickness of the wall.

In some cases the operator can help. A slab/roof/mesh can act as a cover fill but typically you'll still need a bit of line work. If its worth getting fancy you can save the operator as a library part and replace with same. This way you can make the plan view anything you want with just a single element to manage.

Otherwise it's fills and lines or the patch tool.

Why not just turn the operator into a Window/Wallhole? Especially if it's repetitive through the project.

<S></S><LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... p?p=189951">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=189951</LINK_TEXT><E></E>

Then just save the object into the Embedded Library.
