Encina Ltd have developed FrameWright, an ArchiCAD add-on designed specifically for oak framing. I see Lennox has already given you the URL for our product (thanks ), and I can put you in touch with framers using the product if you wish. Either use our contact page <S></S>http://www.encina.co.uk/contact.html<E></E> or contact me privately through ArchiCAD-Talk.
Used to do a lot of post and beam construction. The attached is the first frame I ever built. This was probably modeled in ArchiCAD 4.1 a long time ago. Should be easier now.
