I have no idea why the stair would not want to mirror but as Erika suggested it must be a setting in the parameters.

Try turning the railings off to see if that helps or try with a default stair that you haven't altered.
If the message indicates a line number for the problem then you could delve into the script to either identify the problem area or fix it if you are knowlegeable in GDL.
Polygon error in hotlink

<T>I'm currently working on a landscape option in an AC12 file with an office block hotlinked in. The office file is relatively simple and behaves fine in 3D and 2D.

But when I hotlink the office into the landscape file I get the error message "Opposite edge list direction in PGON 847". After some time in 3D I now know the error is in a stair in the office block file. But the error only occurs in the landscape file with the hotlink, I can't replicate it in the office file.

I've attached an image showing the 3D stair that's shown in the office file and then the same stair once hotlinked in the landscape file. For whatever reason the balustrade doesn't show in the 3D of the landscape model.

If anybody's had a similar problem before I'd really appreciate some help! Otherwise it's a phone call to our archicad support provider...and a 2 week wait! Thank you</T>

I can't say I have ever come across this problem but it looks from your image that the office hotlink is mirrored?
Maybe that is causing the problem.

Does mirroring a copy of the stairs in the original result in the same message?
If not then mirror the whole office before you save as a hotlink and bring it in normally.
Mirrored hotlinks has been the cause of problems in the past.
But maybe I am completely on the wrong track.
Barry,

Thanks for that, you're right that does seem to be the problem. But mirroring the stair in the office block file also produces the same error message.

Any ideas why this might be? ...or just a way around it!

Thanks again,
I think it might be your stair settings.

I created a stair with the single rail using template defaults; checked 3D and no error messages.

I mirrored a copy of this stair; checked 3D and no error messages.

I saved these two stairs as a module and placed them in a new site file; checked 3D and no error messages.

I mirrored a copy of the module; checked 3D and no error messages.

I placed a mirrored module setting rotation angle to 3D; checked 3D and no error messages.
