I want a wall to be visible on two stories...

...with different presentation, that is I want the wall to appear as a normal AC wall on the story on which it's physically placed on but presented as a line on the story above or under.

This is an issue raised in an ongoing project where we use ArchiCAD for early construction documentation (we're not architects but engineers).

You cannot make the same wall visible in two stories. One trick for this problem is to copy the wall from one story to the upper and then explode the top wall-The result of this will be a group of lines and fills. Then you can adjust them accordingly to your needs (erase the fill etc).
Problem is that when you change the "real " wall you have to repeat this procedure.

Another is to give the copied wall zero height - but beware and put it also on a layer with a crazy intersection number like 99 in order not to mess up the plan.

I usually use this copied wall for coping in section; flat roof is a norm here, soyou do need it anyway ...

Another trick - if we are talking parapet wall - is to use Profiler, as it is an object, that can be seen where you want. The problem here is itis not a wall any more.

Thanx for your workarounds. I would actually want a wall that has a 2D representation on the story above or under. No workarounds allowed here... In my dream this is implemented in a coming version of AC. When we do structural studies (AutoCAD) of a building we usually look upwards and we can see the walls from the story above as a dotted line. In this project we are looking downwards for the same purpose. No matter it would be of great help to have the option of turning on/off this 2D representation.

Another possibility would be to use the ghost story for working and overlay the two floor plans in PlotMaker for output. Not exactly WYSIWYG, but it seems that it should work pretty easily for what you want.
