topic Offsetting lines (single line into double lines) in Modeling

<T>Hi,

This should be a realively easy question for you guys, but since I'm new to ArchiCad, I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Is there a way to draw a single line or a series of lines (i.e. the shape of a roof flashing), and then offset these lines a certain distance to create double lines (so the flashing is now has a profile rather than just been drawn as a single line width)?

Thanks a lot</T>

Turn on your Control Box palette (Window> Palettes> Control Box). Click and hold on the Relative Construction Methods button, shown below, and the options will appear. If you use the Magic Wand (spacebar and click on the original line) you will then be prompted for an offset dimension.

Easy peasey. And very handy.

Stuart:
If you've got the "screen room", you can expand the Control Box Pallette and eliminate the "click and hold" step.
You have to Right Click on the pallette to bring up the option.
Probably save you a few minutes over the next 5 years

I was not aware of that. But I've only been using Archicad for 10 years!
In that case you need to turn it off completely and go looking for it everytime you need it.
