Moving objects to other stories..

I have drawn a set of beams at second floor level, but when I move them to the correct position in the section view, they move automatically to the first floor plan. Any ideas on how to 'link' them to the second floor plan so they are not visible on the first floor? Thanks!

Select the beams, open the beam settings dialog, and set the "Home Story" to your 2nd level. Under the Floor Plan and Section Panel, Floor Plan Display, set "Show on Stories" to "Home Story Only".

Thank you for your reply, I followed your instruction, but there is no 'Home Story' option in the Beam settings. There is an option to 'show on all levels' etc in the drop down menu, so I presume I am in the correct dialogue box?

You must be using AC10? Place your beams in the second level Story window at the required elevation relative to that Story, and set "Show on / Link to Stories" to "Current Story Only".
