Andro, could you explain this in more detail?
Where do you do this?
In the Window Settings Dialog?
Where do you select the new Window?

Did you mean CTRL+ALT+clicking the new Window in the Window Settings Dialog?

<T>Hello

I have brought a IFC model into archicad from a site measure app. The IFC windows come in really basically, similar to archicad empty openings. I would like to just inject new window properties onto these IFC window but retain the IFC window sizes. Is there a way to do this?

Cheers

Usualy to change a window type but retain its dimensions, do this:
1. Select window (s) to change
2. Find another type of window in the library
3. While pressing ALT pick the desired new window type
4. pick OK; Done

Yes, in the Window Settings Dialog!

Where do you select the new Window?

In the Window Settings Dialog select new window from the library!

Did you mean CTRL+ALT+clicking the new Window in the Window Settings Dialog?

Sorry Laszlo, my mistake. It´s CTRL+ALT+click on the new window in the library. In this way the dimensions from the old windows are preserved.

Thanks for the quick reply

Another question. It there a way to join walls together. The opposite to the split tool? or do I have to remake them?

Cheers
There is a command called Merge Walls.
You can add it to you menu in the Work Environment Dialog's Menus page.
It will merge the sections of the two Walls (which will stay the same if they are simple Walls) and its length will be the total length of the two merged Walls.
However, the Wall become a Complex Wall.
This is not a problem since if you merged two straight vertical Walls you can simply select the resulting Wall and change its type from Complex to Straight and it will be fine.

Edit: Actually, the Merge Walls command is there in the Design\Complex Profiles menu.
