I need to exchange various AC files with other AC users that are not that fond of upgrading to the latest versions.
As everybody has his mouth full of the latest dwg conversion, IFC format, etc. ... I still struggle to transfer AC files between the same community : AC12 to AC10, AC11 to 9 or 8, ..., uploading AC9 file and send back for revision,...

No automatic translator available by GS, don't want to start downgrading step by step... that's the point of having multiple versions installed...

I also have all those versions installed along wtih 8.1 and 7. If I have to open some old project for a quick fix, I find it easier to do it in saved version than to migrate. For more than the hour-long fix, I migrate. AC12's speed is worth the trouble!

Same reason as Tom's + since I retired my PPC G5 I kept a Copy of AC9 if I need it sometime in the future. Also since I help Jon (3DCadCo) down here sometimes I get tech support calls and it helps having the specific release. FWIW I did uninstall 8.1

Works for me too - on a PC that is. Everything is remembered. The only bug I see here is that any tool that uses a library part (eg. Object, Lamp, Door, etc) needs to be stretched first before the splitter becomes available.

I believe that this isn't quite the case on a Mac, especially remembering settings between AC sessions.

Cheers,
