Click on the tab called Pen Sets. The one you show as selected is Pens & Colors. You can append Pen Sets but not individual pens.

Using Attribute Manager : first in the Attribute Manager left pane select Pen Set to export, press Append to copy into the right pane, select it and press Save As button (choose a folder and OK).

Now import thiss Pen Set.aat file into your current project: in the right pane pick Merge button, find the right .aat file, then select it, pick Append button and OK.

Llian:

You do not need to create .aat files. Using the Attribute Manager in the current file, click the "Open" button near the bottom middle of the dialog box and open the file (.pln) you want to import the pen set from. Now you can append pen sets or other attributes from this file.
David - Great advice, only I can't figure out how to do the Append thing so that the imported pen set is added to my current project. Do I need to select something first? My Append button is grayed out. Attached is my Attributes Manager window.
