The built-in stairmaker is horrible, just horrible.

I wasted so much time on it and got nothing. I'm using AC12, which means that Graphisoft reviewed the program 11 times after its very first release, and 11 times they didn't do anything about their stairmaker. So disappointing!!!

I ended up buying ArchiStair by Cigraph, and I'm very happy with it.

<R>I'm trying to create a U shaped stair with 7 risers, landing, 2 risers, landing, and then 7 risers. 3 foot wide runs typ. The U stair defaults to 3 risers in the intermediate run (between landings). When I try to edit the stair and change the number of risers to 2 in this run, the width changes to a narrower value, and when I enter 3', the stair corrupts.

The stair tool can be a tricky bastard sometimes. I use the "create stair" and have to go back and edit them many times before I get what I want

Have you tried locking certain elements you do not want changing, like the number of risers? You may have to change lengths of the run, etc. to get it to stay @ 3'-0" wide. Sorry, not much help.
