Changing Elements

I have a query, and if anyone could help I would really appreciate it

I do however, feel stupid for asking such a thing but I have no idea how to do it.
Basically I have no clue how to change the elements with the small triangles at the bottom (attached is what I'm talking about)
I'm wanting to change the single line to say a rectangle wall so i can be more efficient with my time.

Also, I'm on Mac...

Any buttons with a small triangle have a pop-out with more options.
You must hold your mouse button down for a short time to activate this pop-out.
Just clicking on the button will not do anything.
Once the pop-out is activated you can choose the option you want.
