<T>anyone know how i can change to 3 or 4 decimal places when in millimetres?

the 2, 3, and 4 options in "preferences", "working units and levels" is greyed out and it wont let me pick them.

i have gone into edit database and everything there was imperial, i added millimetres with 4 decimal places but it still doesnt come up in the "working units and levels" dialogue.</T>

I'm sorry I don't know the answer, but I'm curious as to why you'd want to work to 3 or 4 decimal places of a millimetre - are you in nano engineering?

I think 1/10th of a millimeter is the most you can set. It is a feature.
I guess it is enough for most people.

i had a fabricator in the UK several years ago kept calling me up and complaining that my drawings were a millimetre out here and there from the as-built structure he was working within. drove me crazy for weeks despite telling him that when bob the builder started assembling his components millimetres were going to be the least of his worries . . .

building tolerances are usually in the 10-20mm magnitude . . .
