How Can I Model This Rail

<T>have a client who wants this handrail modeled into their job to see what it will look like (like the picture i say, not good enough.)

so the horizontal balusters, they want to be round bar, so i will just use a round complex profile with the wall tool, then curve the wall, and copy them above eachother, easy.

but im drawing a blank how to model the curved handrail on the top (see red arrow).
best i can find is in the library item - curved ramp 01. but this only allows me to do a square/rectangle rail. and i need a round one.. any hints to model it or a library item that i can use??
cheers</T>

There is the Spiral object under Basic Shapes in the standard AC Library. You must be able to work out the sweep angle and radius of axis, the height of the spiral will be your floor to floor height. Use an SEO for the vertical cut at the bottom end of the rail.
The horizontal balusters could be the Elbow object from the same library, make one, Multiply in Rotate mode with vertical displacement.

What I would do is use a curved beam with a complex profile to define the arc .

Convert it to morph.

Select the end plane and move it in the Z coordinate.

If GeNOS's signature is still up to date, no Morph tool in AC14

perfect, that might be the easiest option. i tired searching the library but unless you know a keyword there would be dozens of items you would never see.

ejrolon
ill give this ago.. iv not used the morph tools yet. ill have a play with it.

iv got 15 and 16, but still using 14 . i was gonna change over to 16 recently, but thought id wait till 17 comes out.. which we should be receiving them the post very soon im hoping.
