<T>Once upon at time
In ArchiCAD nine
I could get to a tool with the hit of a key.
In AC 10, can some help me
why they took away this tool?
Am I the only fool
to think this assumption,
the keystroke had purpose and function?

Hey Graphisoft,
please bring back the tool access by key board shortcut!</T>

You can make whatever keyboard shortcuts you want through the Work Environment. It might not be the default when you first install Archicad 10, but you can make them for yourself if you want.

Can you over write global keystrokes?

example: in AC9 'M' activated the door tool, now it is for Measure.

Why would GS do this change? They seem to keep changing the keyboard commands. But why? It is so dam hard to sit at another person's computer to work when you have to stop to use the pull downs. If I make a new system of keys for myself, I am not going to force this on others nor do I want them to force me to use theirs. I want the tool which makes me productive to not change. I am often called to help others in the office. I find it hard enough to deal with them changing the locations of palette, now I need to deal with keyboard commands. Tell me where the productivity of this software is now? There used to be a time when a certain group of people sat around a room all working to "build" a house in set time using the fewest commands possible. Are we working ourselves away from this?

Power users should not only be those who can model anything, draw anything, but they should be the fastest people. And by fast, they need to not be hampered when they sit down at a machine to do work (any machine). GS is moving away from this with the newest keyboard system. In AC 9 you could reprogram the keyboard commands if you wanted. So the logic of dropping all the productivity it had from the software is very baffling to me.

thats why I made the post. Thats why I want the key commands back. I would be happier if there were a standardized environment offered in the AC10 package which I could turn on which had all the key commands from AC 9 as an option. This would be a short term solution. Currently there is only one keyboard standard scheme and this is for 10.

What do others say?
