Hidden object lines for elevations

If I'm working with elevations, why in the world of Archicad would they not make it user friendly to make structures behind cut surfaces to have an option to dash/ghost/ or hidden line the structure behind the cut surface. Does anyone know if there is an option to do this?

Hey Peter thanks for the forward greatly appreciated! I looked through the previous threads on this issue and "Special Menu" always comes up, I work with AC 12 and I cannot for the life of me activate this menu for some reason, any suggestions?
