I am finding recently that it is often turning itself on for no aparent reason. Just now I was working with floor slabs and when I went to 3D view the ceiling layer turned on and wouldn't let me turn it off. I went back to floor plan picked my default layer group that has no floor layer or ceiling layer turned on then turned on the floor slabs layer again went to 3D and voila there are the ceiling slabs again! Weird!
