I think you should give the Cavity's Building Material an Intersection Number value of less than 700 (weaker than the brick).

<T>I'm trying to set up a template that works well with the new priorities.
In Perth, most houses are built with cavity brickwork.

I find it quite problematic to find a way to close of a cavity wall with a single brick. Happens with brick piers or internally where 190 or 230 wall meets 90mm wall. I did manage to work around the problem by making a new brick composite that is equal or greater priority then cavity.

It does not however give me a clean finish where the single wall meets the external leaf as it is not the same priority.

When using finishes within composites, the problem seems to become unmanageable (short of making an endless amount of composites to suit each intersection).

I did want to incorporate the finishes (render, float&set etc) into my template so that 1:50 plans can show it but I'm having my doubts whether or not it's worth the hassle.

Has anyone got any ideas as to a better way of doing this.

Any help is much appreciated ... do you use 'finishes' in your office ... I've never worked with anyone using it for minor' finishes. Only things like stone cladding or weatherboards.

Thanks.</T>

hmmm ... just to answer my own question, I did use wall end tool to successfully clean my walls up ... i swear I tried before but failed 😕

Image:

I'd still like to know if anyone knows more practical way of achieving this.

another problem i just encountered is when you offset a reference line on a wall (which I often do to clean up my intersections) ... the 'wall end' objects is created (in 2d and 3d) at the intersection point of the 2 reference lines, not the actual wall itself. Is anyone aware of a work around?
