Where's the objects?

Can someone show me where the file with all the standard objects that a guy would use to draw a set of plans are? I have this AC10 Library folder but it just has a bunch of stuff that looks like a bad cartoon from the 1980's...............I have been using this program for years and am absolutely appalled at the library of objects. Get real!!! This is pathetic!! I know someone will start in with talk about how great GDL is or comment on the fact i'm still using version 10, but save your breath. I've heard it all! I don't want to use GDL or slabs to model a freaking bathtub, every residential building in the world has one! Give me a real library or I'm done! I will not upgrade to 12 or 13 if they are going to keep selling me the same garbage. Take a look at a far inferior (but cheaper) program called Chief Architect, tons of name brand components. I really believe AC could be the best but something has to change. Get it together!

Is there are real question in this post or are you just having rant?

If you want some serious help with this issue ask a constructive question. If you aren't interested in that, then go back to Chief Architect or another architectural package.

I can assure you that many people use Archicad very successfully. It isn't perfect but this forum is one way to get the most of this product. Time and time a users frustration is often evidence of little or no training and with Archicad you NEED TRAINING. I learnt the hard way (training guides, trial and error, seat of the pants stuff) and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. This is a serious design and documentation package and you need training to make it "sing".

As for object libraries there are plenty of third party objects, many of them are free. If there isn't a specific one you need, just ask here - someone may have one.

I think ArchiCAD's strengths are in helping the architect visualize the design as it develops, ultimately leading to a better built product. It is true that if your focus if getting the "perfect" set of plans with all the 2D graphic symbols and such to look to your liking the default library may be a bit lacking. I think given the choice between the two, I'd rather value the former.

Also, if you really cannot live without that perfect bathtub symbol, you could just draw it in 2D and save it as an object. This requires no GDL.

That was purely a late night rant. No need to defend "our" software. I am very aware of Archicad's capabilities, just frusterated with the supplied content. We're on the same team!
