Shift+clicking in the perspective settings dialog box will position the camera where you click. Alt+click will position the camera target

Hope this helps

<T>I need help urgently, please help! My generic perspective view of my 3d house does not want to come up, or is out of focus. In the navigator preview shows the house, with a green line running on the side. Help please. Is there also away to reset it. I tried to click the " fit to window button, but it just brings up nothing. But in the navigator preview I can see the plan, but the green line is either across the little screen, or on the side of the little screen. Help.</T>

Place a camera on your plan using the camera tool in the toolbox.
Aim it at the structure.
Select the placed camera.
Then ask for a 3D view.

This should fix the problem.
