PM9 layout display order, or How To Place the Master on Top?

<T>In PM, my default (what I almost always want) is that the info drawn/written/inserted directly on the Layout and on the Master layout, that is drawing title, number, text etc, should be shown on top of everything else on any layout, regardless of what that is.

Now I find that Drawings placed on a layout always print/plot/publish on top of the Master info, despite my efforts to Send To Back or Bring to Top. If I have a dark Drawing, no Master info shows. And since the Drawing always lands on top, it doesn't help to cover the obscuring parts with a white fill. And since the Drawing's bounding box (that cuts what's shown on the layout) is always a rectangle, I can't solve it that way either. Help!</T>

Thomas,

the drawing or view or pmk is set to have a transparent background by default. The frame of this view can also be an oval or a polygon that you define manually.

Does this help or am I missing something. See image attached.

Thanks Aaron, I missed the polygon. It will sure help!

But of course a way of getting the Master items (with white background) on top of the imported drawings by default would be less work.

sorry Thomas,

isn't that what setting a "transparent background" (see the check box in the image?) for the drawings that sit on the sheets would do?

Nope. If the figures in the drawing are black, and obscure the Master's drawing label, transparent background doesn't help. I'll always want the label on top, I'm afraid.
