Good Now practice QuickViews, you will need it for 8.x

lsid wrote:
i am still waiting for gscne to reply my email for an upgrade from 7 to 8.0 and then decide if it is worth upgrading.

As you should be getting 8.1 (it is a free upgrade from 8.0 to 8.1 AFAIK) believe me it is worth it. 7 is still perfectly capable of performing, but 8.x is taking the whole story into the new chapter.

Good luck, and don't forget to quote <E>😉</E>

<T>please see the attached screen shot of the layout.

the layout appears to have more than one red border - a red and blue border seem to match with a larger red border.

i have set my page setup to 11 x 17 paper size using my hp 1220c printer and in the layout setup, i set to current paper.

so, what did i miss out?

p.s- i still can't get that multiple layouts as djorde did in previous reply.....?????</T>

... which means that you set one page per layout. Judging by your screenshot, you don't need more if it is only plans. Now either you will create a new layout for each sheet, or, if you want everything in one layout, then ...

lsid wrote:
so, what did i miss out?
... set the layout size to the size all of your project sheets would be when tiled together - see my example; layout size on the top left, page setup top right.

Example: you need 4 A3 sheets; one sheet is 420x297 mm, two by two is 840x594 mm (known also as A1 in some places, but never mind that now). So your LAYOUT SIZE is 840x594, while the PAPER SIZE in the page setup is A3 - and you will get the blue rectangle of 840x594 mm size, red rectangles for each sheet and another red rectangle at the first page in the tiling setup 9take alook at my example).

You have two red rectangles, one offset slighly bigger to the other, because your layout size and your paper size (in the Page setup) are the same.

so, djorde, is this a normal scenario, having 2 red borders, offsetting each other even though the layout and page setup are the same?

Yes, it is; the offset one just shows the active sheet. Check on my example - the lower left corner sheet has the offset border, the orhers don't.

Did you manage to make a multi sheet layout? Or are you just nicely going to upgrade?
