Slightly askew of topic, but I noticed from your last jpg that you are using Graphite as a multiple master font with panther. How have you done this? Have been looking high and low for a way to make this work.
Hi Jacek,

Actually no. [can't be dead certain we're talking about the same thing, when I click on download I get nothing ]..........but the last dimension option in the dimension tool doesn't, at least for me allow the dimension of anything but an arc. Pilot error? Do you know something I don't?

That's strange, I can download my own .pdf file from the list...

I tried it again and it does work, you can measure perimeter or the length of a radius, as long as it is part of a circle, squiggles don't work.
It is the old plug in that was incorporated into 7(?).
I have resaved another view of the dimension strings.
Hope this one will work for you.

Me again,

I have attached a .jpg of what I can do and cannot do. The dimension setting at the end of the "standard" palette will only dimension part of a circle, if I click on the circle on the right nothing except the AC "doink" happens, no dice. The circle on the left is a split copy of the right, which then allows dimensioning. The radial dimension tool yields only radius.

[still nothing when I click, or double click, the download tab on your post? Mac to Windows? Computer mystery or, again pilot error?]

The dimension tool will not work with a full circle. Once you complete the circle 360º the program splits the circle into two 180º half circles.

I don't know why it works that way. I have discovered it when creating circular walls, and inserting windows/doors.
You can, however not complete the circle - 359º and it will work.
Or split the wall into halves and dimension each half.

I still don't know why you can not download my illustration files?
I can, but I don't know how to make them visible in the body of the message..

Well at least it's not me so far anyway, I too can dimension circles by splitting them or a similar workaround..........

I am not very familiar with Mac functions, but a screen capture, [Windows is the printscreen button] and save the resolution to max 500 pixels and add as an attachment. THis is done via Photoshop on my setup, I suspect that the Mac solution/version of this procedure is a little more straightforward.

Now maybe you can explain how to download a file from this website?

You got me there, I don't know. I have had it as one of my preferred fonts for several years now and did nothing to change it or include it as I made the consecutive upgrades with the system software and ArchiCADI will try to look into it.

You are right, on the Mac it's; Command-Shift-4
and you select the area on your screen that you want captured, click and you have the file on your desktop, saved as "Picture 1.pdf"

As for downloading files from this forum I either click the Download button or drag it down to the desktop....

Dimensioning needs two points: FROM and TO. If you try to dimension the full circle, there is only one point, that is FROM and TO at the same time. Therefore, BOINK!

Don't forget - computers are stupid, they don't think, they just do (hm ... so do some people I know ... apology to computers!)

Open the circle by .1 degree and dimension, it will work. You NEED two points for dimensioning. Or split it in half and dimension each half.

Well ... I really don't see the point of dimensioning the lenght of the perimeter of the circle; you can get it in the Object info and the site guys could not care less anyway; they need the position of the center and the diameter or radius.
