I have found a solution to my problem. A complete reinstallation of AC9 fixed the error. Thank you to all that offered help.

<T>I am having difficulty accessing a layout book in Plotmaker 9.0. The error message appears half way through loading the selected layout book. I have been able to open the backup and re-save the file in multiple backup locations, but when I come back to the file(s) the next day, the same error occurs. Has anyone seen this before and/or know of a way to fix it?</T>

From the image you posted it looks like you are trying to open the backup layout book. Is this correct? What happens if you open the .lbk versus the .bbk file?

The error occurs when I open either version of the file. It creates the same exact error with the file name being the exception.

Dumping your preferences would probably also help.

i had something similar: pm wouldnt open a blk, including pm freezing after a minute.....i renamed the blk book then pm opend with no problems........ once opened i saved as the original name, and still working ok.......another thing now::
when in plot maker and re-sizing the window for each imported detail,,,i need to 'regenerate' everytime i grab a different edge otherwise i cannot grab the edge dot.... just a comment that is a pain,,,besides the pain that is going from ac to pm and feeling that u r using such a different software.....the effort that gs put upgrading ac8.1 to ac9 was beyond unbalanced compared to the time put into plot maker upgrade..shame.

Open your plotmaker preferences and go to the miscellaneous tab and turn off the auto redraw. This will eliminate the disappearing checkmark at the edge dot.
