Several things have transpired in the process: I was able to open both plans, sections, details - both AC and ACAD, With the context menu and the file menu. However at the fourth item opened the program brought my system to a virtual halt - In the task manager the memory usage was 2-3% so the system was being affected some other way. I will contiinue to see if there is some other link that causes either of our problems.
