the IS by definition searches anything and everything in your project, regardless of layer status.

The workaround we have found (in Teamwork projects) is to only sign out the layers that should be included, then select "Show my Workspace only." It also runs faster.

We have been placing them in plan view exclusively. The output to Text Window seems pretty useless.

In IS there is a option to output placing it as object on floor plan, or create it in an ArchiCAD list window.
I would like to know the benefits creating AC list windows since it can´t be saved in Navigator view set. What output you found to be most automated?

Also, I found that IS also counts anything in a hidden layer. Is it possible to tell IS to just count shown layers?

Thanks,
Ricardo

Ricardo wrote:
In IS there is a option to output placing it as object on floor plan, or create it in an ArchiCAD list window.
I would like to know the benefits creating AC list windows since it can´t be saved in Navigator view set. What output you found to be most automated?

Realistically I <S></S>think<E></E> that when the "Output To" is ArchiCAD List Window the intention should be to push the Place button. However... your question has led me to a most interesting discovery. The window that appears gives one the option to save the contents as a Module (read, fully editable). You can also draw a Marque around the elements in the window, copy and paste into the floor plan window and all elements in the schedule (lines, text) are fully editable giving one <S></S>complete<E></E> control of its appearance. VERY COOL but... keep in mind it is no longer interactive.

Establish criteria as shown below or, another way would be to generate the schedule from the 3D window with all the items to be counted selected. It will only count the selected items.

Cheers (I love to discover something like this)
