However, when I do this using the beam tool to make each member a beam of the proper size (joists 1 1/2 by 10) sill (1 1/2 by 5 1/2) etc. they blend together in section so you cant see how they are stacked. In other words there is no line between them if they are touching. Archicad gets rid of the line that would normally be between the lumber in a detail drawing.
