<T>Hi,

I have drawn a series of shapes using the line tool in ArchiCAD 12, using layout and model units Millimetre. When I try to print from the project map navigator and select the correct paper size, it prints it way too small. If I change the scale it goes too big and never fits correctly.

Please could you help me with the layout and page setup as I'm working with mm in everything.

Thank You</T>

I see you are a student. Your questions here are so basic.
Are you taking a class in Archicad?
What kind of training are you getting?
Have you gone through the tuturials?
Have you read the manual(s) in the help menu?

No, my Uni only teach AutoCad
No training, I'm a student and can't afford it, thats why I join these forums
I went through some of the tutorials a while back
I need to re-read the manual.

I post basic questions so that I can get a fast and simple answer. My deadline is Monday and I have a ton of things to do, some that simply will not get done unfortunately and I don't always have the time to read manuals; my mistake.

We all start from somewhere

OK, so if I were to draw something to a scale of 1:10 I would just select Document > Floor Plan Scale > 1:10, then print it at that scale ?

Is it that straight forward ?

You should save a separate view for each scale you want to print.
For example if you want to print a floor plan at 1:50 and also 1:10,
then set up separate views. With each view will be saved other settings such as Layer Combination, Model View Option, dimension profile/set, etc.

When you work in each view you will be seeing it as it will be printed.
With Archicad open, in the Help Menu>go to Archicad Help.
On the Contents tab:

Interaction : Navigation : The Navigator Palette : Setting up a View

Good for you using Archicad. May it start a new trend. Where in England are you? Perhaps there is someone nearby who would be willing to spend a couple hours with you. That kind of one on one help will be invaluable.
Thank You.

I live in Grimsby, Lincolnshire and I was thinking exactly the same thing ! It's obviously easier to get help online ( well faster ) as Ralph Wessel was helping me a few days ago on a project that I'm still trying to get right, but I appreciate any help from anyone !

I'm printing everything at 1:10 so that it's clearer to read in my presentation ( nobody know CAD really ) and it has to be to that specofoc scale anyway.
