Dinamic/Live dimensions with additional text

Can anyone tell me why it's not possible to have dynamic/live dimensions and be able to add additional text to the string (i.e. 10'-2" M.O.)...or tell me how to do this? This issue has HUGE potential to create construction issues/problems if each dimension isn't checked and rechecked throughout the project.

The reason why is that as soon as you enter additional text it becomes a custom dimension and is therefore not connected anymore. It is unfortunate. What I do in this case is to do the extra information as text and place it next to the dimension. It is a work around but doesn't take too much longer than typing in the text into your dimension.
