David, there is nothing in my Detail Library identified as "Detail Part Marker_NCS12. And, Barry, I haven't a clue about how to go into scripts and I've found nothing in AC12 documentation about how to reach scripts for a detail marker. The odd thing is that this very detail marker works just fine (i.e.: no warning about hotspot ID's) on my desktop which is loaded with the same version and build of ArchiCAD; the problem I'm having is limited to my laptop. Thank you for your thoughts. I wish I could follow your suggestions.

This screen shot shows a warning that arises when I try to fill out a particular detail marker in AC12. It refers to "hotspots with the same unique ID..." and gives me the option of stopping or continuing. The message persists with each step I take. In plain, clear language, what is happening and how do I fix it?

The hotspots in the object script contain unique identifying numbers.
In your case it seems two of them are not so unique.

If you know what you are doing you can go into the script and edit them.

Otherwise you only option is to continue.
It shouldn't cause any problems unless you are trying to dimension those hotspots.
Then the associated dimension may get mixed up as to which hotspot it needs to link to and can change incorrectly as you move and stretch the object.
But I am guessing you will not need to dimension the marker.

So you just have to out up with the annoying message unless you can alter the script.

You can turn the error messages of in the work environment but I wouldn't recommend that as obviously messages appear for a reason.
Bob:

Check your libraries. In the Object Library 12, this part is named "Detail Part Marker_NCS 12", and the parameters are different (the "PlotMaker" in your screen shot hints that this is an old part, in the 12 part, this is "Referred Drawing"). Confirm that you are using the correct marker for ArchiCAD 12.
Bob:

Make sure you have the Object Library 12.lcf loaded, it contains the Detail Part Marker_NCS12, then use the pop up list (where you see Detail Part Marker_NCS) to select it. I think you are using the marker from version 9, when I load the ArchiCAD Library 9.pla into ArchiCAD 12 and select Detail Part Marker_NCS I get the same error message.
