Problem plotting in Archicad13: black lines all print gray

I am having a problem plotting using Archicad13, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, HP Designjet 430 (black only) with 64-bit Vista driver.
Entire drawing: lines and text prints grey not black, whether I have the plotter set for black and white or color. Different line weights print correctly, but everything prints a uniform pale gray. When I print PDF files, the drawing prints sharp black lines and text with no problem. Can anyone help with this problem?

Is your plotter set to draft quality?

I'm guessing you are printing from >File >Print, if so, then:

When printing directly from the screen, a window called "Print 2D Document" pops up. Click on the "Black and White" check box.
