<T>Hi All,

When I save a 3D view onto a layout, the resolution is locked at 72dpi.
On the layout when I bring up the "Drawing Selection Settings" under properties I can change the dpi but it is locked with the magnification. If I up the resolution the magnification decreases.
Anyway of setting this to 300dpi?

Cheers,

The 3D view will be saved in raster format at the screen resolution if OpenGL is used. Thus it will be just as big on the paper as your screen (more or less; not every screen resolution equals to 72 dpi).

If you save it with the Internal Engine, it will remain in vector format.

The former will be assigned a dpi, the latter will be assigned a scale, in the resulting drawing. The former will obviously resize much better as it is a vector format, however it will not look as pretty due mostly to the lack of textures.

My suggestion would be to use a photorendered image. You can assign any resolution to the photorendering, before or after you place the view as a drawing on the layout.

Cheers,
Many thanks Link. Photorendering out images makes the most sense I agree. I never considered it! Interesting how different viewing engines effect the resolution on the layout book. Thanks!
