Hi guys, i can't remember how to convert back to being able to dimension on an angle, I've looked on google, but still stuck.

You had to choose this option :

And just before the validation you can click on a line, a wall or even a guide line that has the same angle

Thanks Christophe, i tried this except it does not work, has it something to do with it being an imported file from someone else template set up?

You need to hold the mouse button for just a fraction of a second longer to get the pop-out.

Please give us a screen capture to understood your setup
One of your parameter is wrong
It might be better and faster if you tell us All your parameter by a or some screen capture

You had to begin with my first advice
