Evening all,

Measuring tool seems to be giving inaccurate measurements in 3D documents (see example attached). Haven't encountered any problems in other areas e.g floor plans/elevations/sections etc.

Anyone else experienced this or confirm?

Cheers,

Chris

Fresh attempt this morning...

Note also the size of the dimension on this occasion...this is a 1:20 view with dimensions set to 1.5mm as per the previous image. The ruler line shifted slightly out of vertical when I pressed Cmd/Alt/3 to take snapshot. It should read 207...

Hi Chris.

Apparently the measure tool measures 2D distances on the 3D documents and not the associated points of the 3D model, while the dimension tool measures the 3D distances of the model.

You could say that the Measure tool gets the info from the Paper, while the Dimension gets it from the Model.

To summarize, the relevant and correct distances are from the Dimensions.

Hi Katalin,

So basically...

The measuring tool is accurate when used within the model or a 2D document but is inaccurate when used within a 3D document. The dimension tool is accurate in all cases.

You haven't said, but I assuming that this is a bug that will be corrected as some point in the future?
