Thanks. Thats what I needed to know. Also, just moving the Subset up to the top of the book floders helped too.

<T>I can't find an autotext to use in my Master that will show the Layout Number or Number of Layouts in the Subset I am using to generate a Permit Set.
I have checked all the appropriate "Do not inclued in this Subset" boxes.
I do have a correct Sheet Index.

How do you do that?</T>

The layout number is just the 'Layout ID'.
The number of layouts in a subset is not possible directly.
But it can be done.
Select a drawing on the last page of the subset and right mouse click.
Choose "set as autotext reference".
Now you can add autotext ('reference' category) and add the "layout ID ref".
This will now track the layout ID of the sheet that that drawing is placed on - move the drawing to another sheet and the autotext will update.
So as long as it is on the last page of your subset all will be good.

You can even create a JPG image for the last page, place that on the last page and reference that.
Then just move that around if you want a different last page.

It is possible to have multiple reference items but only one will be active in the autotext at a time.
So if you reference one drawing (or JPG) and add the autotext then reference a second drawing (JPG) the first autotext will still reference the first drawing and all new autotext added will reference the second drawing.
