Good to know Laszlo, thanks. I just recalled there was a solution, but have probably never used it myself.

"Area on plan" Label

I noticed that when I select a slab I can see the "Area on plan" in the Element Information Box. How can I get a label to show this number?

I would like to place an "Area" label on all of my slabs, so that I don't have to create a seperate area fill every time I want to show the area calcs for a building.

If this "Area on plan" label is not possible, then is there another way to show the area of a slab on a plan without having to create a fill?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, since this has been a question of mine for many years.

Use the "Dimension Label 20" Label and place it associatively to the Slab.
List only its Surface Area and select the "Sum of Selected Surfaces" for the "Value" field. Then check only the Top Surface to be added to the value displayed by the Label.

Watch this clip on the relevant settings of the Label:
I was trying to post this solution from the Cadimage Blog last week, but the forum appeared to be having problems (thought I had broken it).

So, try this... Cadimage Blog - Finding the Area of a slab

S2art,

Your solution works for AC18 and earlier, mine refers to AC19 and later since the way Labels work was overhauled in AC19.
