It does the same in AC16 and AC18 as well. Maybe it never worked?

Dimension text adjustments question

<T>So I am relatively new to Archicad and am scratching my head a bit as to a function of editing a dimension text. I prefer to show my dimensions with the text in the line itself which I have set the tool correctly in this regard. When I run a dimension string and the number lands overlapping a door, since I want the drawing to be easy to read, I slide the dimension text so that they do not overlap. Why does the line that is cut on either side of the text not move with it? I am constantly wanting to do this to keep my drawings clear, is there a setting or some other way to get those cut ends to move?

Thanks in advance!
T-</T>

Could you show a screenshot or two of the exact situation? (You can attach one screenshot per post.)

I see. I tried it and I get the same result.
The gap in the Dimension Line does not follow the Dimension Text for some reason.
I think this is a bug. When the Dimension Text is moved, ARCHICAD should check whether the Dimension Text still intersects the Dimension Line, and if so, adjust the gap it creates in the Dimension Line.

I will report this to GRAPHISOFT.

If it never worked then probably it is a very little used feature because hardly anybody noticed.
Nevertheless, I will report it so they can fix it.
