Thanks, Laszlo this explains why it didn't work.

It would be handy to verify classification and properties of CW's.

<T>I would like to make Override for Doors and Windows modelled in CurtainWall is there any way for doing that. So far I tried to use Property which is available for doors to determine to be a door component. However, GOV didn't react at all. It seems like it doesn't check anything inside CW element only Properties attached to CW itself. Is there any way to make it work?</T>

If it is anything like doors/windows, I don't think you can override individual surfaces / elements. I haven't tried in ArchiCAD22 yet, to see if there are any changes.

If you override walls based on a surface, the entire wall will get the override settings, not just that single surface. And so on.

What sort of override are you trying to achieve? Maybe there is a workaround to get it to work.

It's particularly related to Curtain Wall which seems to be conglomerate of almost gdl's. But it seems to be quite isolated.
We have a bunch of separated CW's with some elements manually put as doors/windows and this getting to be hard to work with.

1. We can't override elements inside CW. I want to colour elements classified as windows and doors to check whether they are properly classified.

2. Appling Favorites and ctr+alt doesn't work at all. So its hard to transfer settings to elements inside different CW's // <S></S>EDIT: My Bad Favorites actually works.<E></E>

3. We have to get inside the CW and manually select elements to modify them.

4. We are not able to specify the size of doors with parameter only by adjusting scheme or width of the panel. The reason probably is that it's kind of GDL and it's supposed to be related to the scheme.

5. Doors seem to miss the orientation parameter. So we can't tell if they are Left or Right...
It's ok if you have several in the project. But we have around 200 windows to change ... Windows which you are not able to select any other way than manually // <S></S>EDIT: Fixed - used wrong Orientation fro Windows, Panels has it own.<E></E>

CW was migrated from 21 to 22 but it seems to behave ok. I really don't want to remodel the whole thing with columns and beams...

22 does offer unlimited (?) 'panels' you can define in your scheme (as opposed to the option of having only two before), which can be linked to the scheme. It is much quicker to set up curtain wall sections this way.

Perhaps re-doing the curtain wall sections with new schemes with the windows and doors setup correctly is a way forward? I mean, it will take time to re-model, but after that any changes are much easier to apply.

I think there were also improvements in scheduling them, though with the nested way of editing curtain walls, I'm not sure if you could edit things from a schedule (which would be a great step forward if it was possible).

I don't often use the CW tool, since it allways feels fine in early design, but once you need things to actually have proper dimensions, it starts to get too limited. Maybe some things have improved in 22, but I've only got one project running on 22 at the moment, and no CW in sight there.

kzaremba,

Sub-elements cannot be overridden using Graphic Overrides; in its current state, it always overrides the whole element.
It may be possible to Schedule the fields you wish to check and see whether they are properly classified.
